Browser extension

Protect client details in the AI chat sites you already use.

For people who paste client work into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity. Sensitive details become placeholders when you press send.

Send the placeholder version. Read the real one.

When you press send, the extension finds names, identifiers, addresses, secrets and anything on your always protect list. Each one is swapped for a placeholder such as [PERSON_1] before the message goes to the site.

When the answer comes back, the extension shows the real values on your screen. The site’s own scripts keep seeing the placeholders.

Free to install. Manual setup for Chrome or Edge.

On the left, the original text shows a fictional account holder, email address and card number. On the right, the same text reads [PERSON_1], [EMAIL_1] and [CREDIT_CARD_1], with a label saying 3 found.
Captured from the free browser check with fictional data. The extension applies the same swap inside the chat site.

Supported sites

This list shows compatibility only. Hushbridge is not affiliated with these companies, and they have not endorsed it. The extension runs on no other website.

Install version 0.1.1

The extension installs by hand with the Load unpacked option in Chrome. It is not listed in a browser extension store yet. Installing by hand lets you read every file before you load it.

The download page and the extension still use the Tightlip name while the product moves to Hushbridge.

  1. Open tightlipai.com/download and download the extension ZIP file (about 111 KB).

  2. Unzip it into a folder you will keep. Chrome loads the extension from that folder, so do not delete or move it later.

  3. In Chrome, open chrome://extensions. In Edge, open edge://extensions. Turn on Developer mode.

  4. Click Load unpacked and select the folder you unzipped.

  5. Pin the extension to the toolbar. Reload any AI chat tabs that were already open.

  6. Your first 25 protected prompts work without a key. After that, sign in and add your API key to the extension.

What stays on your device and what is shared

Stays on your device

  • The real values you typed, and the swap table that links each placeholder to its value. The swap table stays in your browser’s memory and is cleared when the browser closes, unless you turn on the option to keep restore data on this device for 30 days.
  • Your settings, your always protect list and your API key.
  • Weekly counts of protected items. These are numbers only, never the items themselves.

Shared

  • With the chat site, after you press send. The placeholder version of your message, plus anything detection did not catch. The chat site passes it to its AI model.
  • With the chat site, while you type. The text in its message box. The swap happens when you press send, so the site’s page can read your text before that.
  • With Hushbridge. The number of credits a protected send used, and a request for your balance. No text, no detections and no swap table.

Every permission the extension asks for is listed on the current security page. Our data flow page covers the other products.

Limits to know before you rely on it

  • The extension does not scan attachments. Files you upload reach the chat site as they are.
  • The chat site’s page can read your text while you type, because the swap happens at send. On Perplexity, the as-you-type suggestion service is blocked while protection is on.
  • Detection can miss a name that has no cue around it, such as a title, role or label. The rest of the text can still identify a person.
  • Review the protected message before you send it. The extension reduces what you share. It does not stop every possible disclosure.
