Getting started
What does Hushbridge do?
On your device, Hushbridge finds names, identifiers, addresses, secrets and anything on your own “always protect” list. It swaps each one for a placeholder such as [PERSON_1] and shows you what will be shared. After you review it, the placeholder version goes to the AI. When the answer comes back, the real values are restored on your device.
Where should I start?
Start with the free check. Paste some text, or use a fictional sample, and see what gets replaced. It needs no account and no card. When you are ready to use it in your work, pick the browser extension or the SDK and local proxy.
Do I need an account?
Not for the free check. Paid use runs through an account on tightlipai.com. You can create one there.
The extension
Which AI sites does the extension work with?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity. This list shows where the extension works. It does not mean those companies endorse Hushbridge.
How do I install it?
Download version 0.1.1 from tightlipai.com/download. In Chrome, you install it by hand with “Load unpacked”. It is not listed in the Chrome Web Store.
Does it check attachments?
No. The extension protects text you type or paste into the message box. It does not scan files you attach. Remove sensitive details from a file yourself before you attach it.
Can the AI site see what I type?
It can. A chat site's page can read text while you type it, before the extension replaces anything. For sensitive text, run it through the free check first and paste the protected version.
The free check
Does the free check send my text to an AI model?
No. The free check runs in your browser. It does not call an AI model, generate an answer or use credits.
What happens to my text in the free check?
Detection and restoring both run in the page. The swap table stays in your browser. Using the protected text with an AI provider is a separate step that you choose to take.
Is it the real detection engine?
Yes. The free check runs the product's detection engine, bundled into the page. It is a good way to see what gets caught and what gets missed in your kind of text.
Credits and billing
How much does it cost?
USD 0.05 per credit. Top-ups start at USD 100. Sign-up includes USD 20 free credit. See pricing for how each part of the product uses credits.
What does one credit cover?
One credit covers each started block of 8,000 tokens. A token is a small piece of text, about four characters.
Where do I top up or see my balance?
In your account on tightlipai.com. Sign in there to manage credits.
Limits
Will it catch every sensitive detail?
No detector catches everything. Hushbridge uses rules, checksums and name lists. It does not use a machine learning model. Names with no cue, such as a title, a role or a label, can be missed. Names in non-Latin scripts are not covered. Addresses are found in US style only. Add names you know matter to your always-protect list, and read the result before you send it.
Which national ID numbers does it know?
Pakistan CNIC and NICOP, Emirates ID, India Aadhaar and PAN, UK National Insurance and NHS numbers, Canada SIN and Australia TFN. Numbers from other countries are caught only when they follow a label such as “ID no.”.
Can I use it with patient information?
Hushbridge is not a HIPAA business associate and signs no BAA. Its output is not de-identified under HIPAA. Do not send protected health information through the web workspace. Follow your organization's rules.
The Tightlip transition
Why do I still see the Tightlip name?
Hushbridge is the new name for Tightlip. During the move, sign-in, downloads, billing, documentation and support stay on tightlipai.com. You will see the Tightlip name there for now.
Do I need to do anything with my account?
No. Keep signing in at tightlipai.com. Nothing on this site asks you to move your account.
