How to review a protected prompt before you send it

Hushbridge replaces what it detects. Detection can miss things, and the rest of your text can still say who someone is. Use this short review to find what is left.

1. Protect the text first

Use the free check or the extension. If the text is very sensitive, use the free check and paste the result. A chat site's page can read text while you type it.

2. Read the protected version, line by line

Read the version the AI will get. Here is a real run of the detection engine on a fictional sample.

Original (fictional example)

Fictional example. Please draft a reply to our client Marta Quillfeather about the settlement of USD 48,200 agreed on 14 March 2026. Email her at marta.q@example.com. She is the only harbour pilot at Kestrel Quay, so keep the tone discreet.

What the AI would get

Fictional example. Please draft a reply to our client [PERSON_1] about the settlement of USD 48,200 agreed on 14 March 2026. Email her at [EMAIL_1]. She is the only harbour pilot at Kestrel Quay, so keep the tone discreet.

The name and email were replaced. The amount, the date and the detail about the only harbour pilot at Kestrel Quay were not. Together, they could still point to one person.

3. Check for what is still there

Names that were left in
Look for names with no title, role or label next to them. Check nicknames, accented spellings and names in non-Latin scripts. These are the names detection is most likely to miss.
Dates
Outside the healthcare profile, only dates of birth are replaced. A meeting date, a hearing date or a payment date stays in the text.
Amounts
Money amounts are not replaced. A large or unusual figure can point to one client or one deal.
Context that points to one person
A rare job, a small place, a named event or a mix of facts can identify someone even with the name gone. Addresses are found in US style only, so check other address formats too.

4. Fix what you find

Add names you always want hidden to your always-protect list, so they are caught next time. Edit the rest by hand. Change a date to “last month”. Round an amount. Drop a detail the AI does not need to do the task.

5. Handle files on their own

The extension does not scan attachments. Remove sensitive details from a file before you attach it.

6. Send, then check the reply

In supported replies, the real values are restored on your device. Read the restored reply before you use it, just as you would any AI draft.

Remove sensitive details before your next AI prompt.
